High Yield Flanges

High-strength carbon steel flanges for pipeline and API applications.

High yield flanges are manufactured from ASTM A694 forged carbon steel with elevated minimum yield strength requirements. While standard ASTM A105 carbon steel has a minimum yield of 36 ksi, ASTM A694 offers grades ranging from F42 (42 ksi minimum yield) through F70 (70 ksi minimum yield). These flanges are specified for high-pressure pipeline applications where the piping design requires higher allowable stress values than A105 can provide.

The most commonly requested grades are A694 F52 and F60, which align with common pipeline steel grades (API 5L X52 and X60). Selecting a flange material that matches the pipe grade ensures consistent strength throughout the piping system and simplifies welding procedure qualification. All A694 grades are produced as killed steel with controlled chemistry to meet pipeline toughness requirements.

Flanges.AI supplies high yield flanges in weld neck, blind, and slip on configurations per ASME B16.5 and B16.47, plus MSS SP-44 for large-diameter pipeline flanges. Sizes range from 2" through 60" in pressure classes 300, 600, and 900 (the most common for gas transmission service). All high yield flanges ship with full MTR documentation including chemical analysis, tensile testing, and impact testing when specified. Contact us for project pricing.
